I know, I know – another product review/talk?! I must be going crazy! Maybe I'm blossoming into a beauty blogger without even wanting to. Well actually, there's tragic news: it's a pimple party on my face (you don't want to be invited) so I'm just going to talk about something else. Also I thought it'd be an opportune time to throw in here that I have really oily eyelids (since we're already talking about my face in general) and I'm always on the hunt for a primer potion that works! Well well. Benefit's Air Patrol has been making its rounds through the bloggahsphere and being the thrifty AZN I am, I got myself a sample.
BENEFIT
First of all, let me just say I have never tried any Benefit's products before and I don't have a very good impression of the brand to begin. Mainly because I find it overpriced for the amount, and never dared ventured beyond. So when this came through the mail, I decided to give this a whirl. Unfortunately, this doesn't sit well on my lids AT ALL. It's a nice, light consistency which smooths over the lids well but it's absolutely not long lasting. I'm not sure if it's because it's a 'BB cream' primer, but after 4-5 hours, my eye makeup were smearing and I looked like a Van Gogh painting. TRUST ME. Imagine that. Van Gogh on the lids. NOT SO PRETTY HUH.
URBAN DECAY
On the other hand, my trusty Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion! Where would I be without thee? I've had this particular tube for about 2 years (I know I'm gross) now and it hasn't yet disappoint. I can go out in the morning and come home with it still intact, yay! The longevity of this definitely outweighs the Benefit one, at least for me. The only downside to this is because I've had this for a while now, it isn't as creamy as it used to be and if you wear contact lenses like me, applying too much pressure on the lids might make your eye sockets kind of... uncomfortable.
I EVEN DID A SWATCH. WHO AM I. But the top is the Benefit primer and the bottom is Urban Decay's – you can (hopefully) see the Benefit one is watery, and much lighter whereas the second one is much creamier and definitely holds your eye makeup. With Benefit being £21.50 for 0.3 oz (~8.87ml) and Urban Decay for £16 at 11ml, what would be your choice?
(hint: it's not Benefit)
